8 Tips For Traveling With Your Toddler or Infant

1. Always pack extra change of clothes even for your toddler. ellery eats / drinks clean usually but on the plane she spilt apple juice all over herself and i didnt bring a change for her 😅

2. Bring those transparent plastic bags - for soiled diapers in case u cant find a bin, to store clean / dirty utensils etc

3. Prepare snacks/ biscuits. i always thought we can just run to 7-11 to get food if we land late at night or early in morn, but when u are struggling with stroller / luggage / tantrum baby, better have snacks to standby

4. Organise your baby stuff in those zipped organiser bags and label them. i had to keep opening every bag to find my kid’s stuff cos I had like 10 of those organiser bags in my luggage. in the end I had to just empty everything in my luggage and it was a huge mess lol

5. You can get disposable underpads from the pharmacies or shopee to use as baby changing mat. you can use your usual mats but if they do an explosive dump and it gets on the mat, cleaning it in a public toilet will really stress you out.

6. Don’t freak out if you forgot to bring something, you can usually get whatever you need at the pharmacy in the visiting country. but definitely bring meds for the kids. you can get meds overseas too but might not be the same ingredient and u dont want to test for allergies or whether it’s effective for your kids or not

7. For toddlers, i find it really helps to prep them for the trip like describing what you guys are gonna do/ see/ visit so they have expectations. It makes them excited and reduce chances of any melt down esp when waking up much earlier than usual for a flight for eg.

8. For babies, just remember no matter what u do, some babies just cant stop crying on a flight/ train. Could be gas/ air pressure/ new environment. Dont sweat it even if everyone is looking at you.
